Peer-review process
To ensure the high scientific level of the publication, submitted manuscripts undergo an expert evaluation process. The Journal adheres to the double-blind peer review model to ensure the most objective assessment of content and the selection of relevant, original materials.
In the initial stage, all manuscripts are reviewed by the editor-in-chief to assess their relevance to the Journal’s scope and formatting requirements and to determine the scientific validity of the presented results.
The editor has the right to reject a manuscript during the initial review stage if its content does not correspond to the Journal’s scope or scientific direction and if the requirements for structure and technical formatting are not met.
In the second stage, the manuscripts undergo an anonymous expert evaluation by two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant fields and appointed by the editor. The reviewers are not provided with information about the authors, and the authors are not informed of the names of reviewers.
Submitted manuscripts are evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Compliance with the Journal’s profile;
- Research topic relevance;
- Applied methods;
- Originality;
- Scientific significance of the presented information;
- Presentation style.
The review process lasts from 8–12 weeks.
Based on the review results, the editorial board decides on publication:
- accept with minor revisions;
- requires significant revisions, taking into account the reviewers’ recommendations. The revised manuscript is re-evaluated by the same reviewer;
- reject.
The editorial report on the review results is sent to the authors via e-mail. A 10-day deadline is given for revision.
All publication decisions are made by the editor-in-chief based on the reviewers’ assessments. The manuscript acceptance for publication is the date of receiving the reviewer positive opinion (or the editorial board decision ) regarding its publication.
The editors reserve the right to reject the manuscript in the case of:
- plagiarism detection;
- inconsistency with the scope of the Journal;
- negative reviewer evaluation;
- the author’s refusal to consider the reviewers’ recommendations.
The editorial team sends a rejection notification to the author via e-mail. It is necessary to contact the editor-in-chief to appeal the decision.
In case of disagreement with the reviewer’s conclusion, the manuscript author has the right to provide a reasoned response to the editorial board. Under such circumstances, the manuscript is reviewed by a working group of the editorial board. The editorial board may also send the manuscript to another expert for re-review.
The interaction between the author and reviewers takes place through the publication editorial board or with the help of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) publishing platform.
Production
After the manuscript is accepted, it undergoes literary and technical editing, source verification, and computer layout. Before publication, the edited manuscripts receive final approval from the authors.
